What makes our eggs special? Pasture.
Eggs from hens raised on pasture are unlike anything you can find at the supermarket, even the organic or free-range ones. Our eggs have bright orange yolks packed with vitamins and minerals from all the grass and grubs the hens eat that factory chickens never get to see. Our girls also supplement their pasture diet with a 100% certified organic, soy-free feed.
When compared to the USDAʼs nutrient data for conventional eggs coming from chickens confined in factory farms, the eggs of pastured hens typically contain:
1⁄3 less cholesterol
1⁄4 less saturated fat
2⁄3 more vitamin A
2 times more omega-3 fatty acids 3 times more vitamin E
7 times more beta carotene 4 to 6 times more vitamin D
Don't be fooled by labeling. The eggs you find in supermarkets may be labeled organic, free- range, all-natural, and cage free, but these labels do not guarantee anything about the nutritional quality of the eggs nor the living-standards of the hens.
Our eggs are the product of a belief that healthy land makes healthy animals makes healthy people.
Better for the Land because our chickens add fertility to the soil by regularly moving on pasture, leaving behind their nitrogen-rich manure and increasing organic matter.
Better for the Chickens because they get to express their “chickenness” spending nearly all their time outside running around on fresh, green grass, scratching and pecking, eating bugs and grubs, in a clean environment where they are protected from predators.
Better for People because we get to enjoy a truly nutritious food that is honest about what it is.
